Toshiba Libretto 300
The Libretto line squeezed a complete x86 PC, running real Windows rather than a cut-down system, into a machine about the size of a paperback with a keyboard you could just about touch-type on.

Background
Toshiba’s Libretto 300 compressed a full Windows-era notebook into a remarkably small form. The collection photograph preserves the machine as a usable portable computer: a reminder that serious mobile computing existed well before laptops became thin, wide, and standardized.
